The Legal Framework

Mars Land Authority operates on a well-established legal framework. The 1967 Outer Space Treaty prohibits national sovereignty claims by States Parties — not by private individuals or corporations. This is the same legal gap that has enabled Dennis Hope's Lunar Embassy to sell $12 million in lunar deeds to over three million people, including former U.S. presidents, over 45 years without a single legal challenge. The U.S. Commercial Space Launch Competitiveness Act of 2015 (SPACE Act) explicitly grants American citizens rights to engage in the commercial exploration and exploitation of space resources. The Artemis Accords, signed by 40+ nations, affirm that private resource extraction in outer space does not constitute national appropriation. Luxembourg's Space Resources Law of 2017 was the first national legislation to explicitly recognize private space ownership rights.

It is not a financial instrument, security, or investment contract as defined under applicable securities laws. It does not guarantee any financial return. ALL SALES ARE FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE.

Relevant International Law

OUTER SPACE TREATY (1967) Article II: "Outer space, including the Moon and other celestial bodies, is not subject to national appropriation by claim of sovereignty, by means of use or occupation, or by any other means." Note: applies to States Parties — not private entities. MOON AGREEMENT (1979) Declares celestial bodies "common heritage of mankind." NOT ratified by the United States, Russia, China, or any major spacefaring nation. Has no binding legal effect on U.S. citizens. U.S. SPACE ACT (2015) Section 51303: "A United States citizen engaged in commercial recovery of an asteroid resource or a space resource under this chapter shall be entitled to any asteroid resource or space resource obtained, including to possess, own, transport, use, and sell the asteroid resource or space resource." ARTEMIS ACCORDS (2020–PRESENT) Signed by 40+ nations. Affirms that extraction of space resources does not constitute national appropriation under the Outer Space Treaty. LUXEMBOURG SPACE RESOURCES LAW (2017) First national legislation granting private entities the right to own and exploit space resources. Recognized by ESA.

Terms of Service

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Mars Land Authority LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. PURCHASES AND PAYMENT All prices are in U.S. dollars. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. All Certificate purchases are final and non-refundable. The optional annual Stewardship Fee of $9.99/year covers registry maintenance and Mars Citizen Club benefits. CERTIFICATE DELIVERY Digital Certificates are delivered within 24 hours of confirmed payment. Parcel coordinates are assigned from MLA's NASA MOLA-derived inventory at the time of purchase. TRANSFERS Certificates are fully transferable. Transfers must be registered in the MLA registry. Administrative transfer fee: up to $25. AFFILIATE PROGRAM Affiliates earn 10–15% commission on referred sales. Commissions are paid on the schedule applicable to the affiliate's tier. Commissions attributable to fraudulent or disputed transactions may be withheld. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY MLA's total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total amount you paid in the six months preceding the claim. MLA is not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages. GOVERNING LAW These Terms are governed by Delaware law. Disputes are resolved by binding individual arbitration under AAA Consumer Rules. Class action waived.

Privacy Policy

INFORMATION WE COLLECT Account: name, email, password (hashed). Purchase: billing name, email, order history, parcel IDs. Payment cards are processed by Stripe and never stored on MLA servers. Automatically: IP, browser, device, pages visited. HOW WE USE IT To process purchases, generate certificates, maintain the registry, send transactional emails, process affiliate commissions, and comply with law. PUBLIC REGISTRY The registry shows: parcel code, display name (if provided), zone, parcel size, registration date. Your email, legal name, and payment information are NEVER shown publicly. WE DO NOT SELL YOUR DATA. We share data only with Stripe (payments), Supabase (infrastructure), Resend (email), and law enforcement when required by valid legal process.
